KARL HUNGUS

A key figure on the Réunion Island music scene, Karl Hungus has been shaping a vibrant style for the past 15 years, drawing on rare groove, soul, hip-hop, funk, disco, house, reggae, and Creole music. Resident DJ at the Sakifo Musik Festival and a member of GUTS’ “Pura Vida DJ’s,” he has also made his mark in Barcelona as a former resident of Marula Café. Over the course of his career, he has opened for major artists such as De La Soul, Fred Wesley, Wax Tailor, and Chinese Man, and shared the decks with renowned names including Guts (La Bellevilloise – Paris, June 2025), DJ Format, Mr Thing, Jazzman Gerald, and Florian Keller. His powerful and refined musical universe reflects a deep love for obscure gems from every era.
