Joe Yorke is a singer and composer from the North-West of England who developed his passion for music during his teenage years. Influenced by punk, folk and reggae, he began busking in the streets of Wigan and Manchester after learning guitar. A turning point came in 2006 when he discovered the UK soundsystem scene at the Notting Hill Carnival. Settling in Manchester, he immersed himself in the local dub and reggae community and formed a lasting musical partnership with producer Eeyun Purkins. Through collectives, jam sessions and soundsystems, he refined his style and gained experience. His music blends Jamaican rocksteady and dub with soul, northern soul, new wave and dub techno influences. Now based in Bristol, Joe runs his own label, Rhythm Steady. He has built a strong reputation on the international reggae and soundsystem scene, performing at major festivals. With around twenty releases and numerous collaborations, he has established himself as a key contemporary reggae artist.
