KAFRINÈR

Reunion Island
Maloya
Saturday 06 June
• SALLE VERTE Stage

Kafrinèr is a musical group founded in July 2024 in La Réunion by committed artist Gilda Gomard. Created as a space for free and authentic female expression, the collective quickly established a strong identity rooted in contemporary Creole culture and driven by the energy of Réunion’s young generation.
Made up mainly of women — Gilda Gomard, Lya Monteville, Alexia Revask, Angélique Narsou, Lorenza Techer and Odile Monteville — the group writes, composes, and performs its own music, blending traditional maloya with modern influences. The name Kafrinèr, inspired by the word “kafrine,” symbolizes pride, freedom, and sisterhood.
Through powerful lyrics, Kafrinèr explores women’s empowerment, love, identity, cultural transmission, and resilience. On stage, they deliver vibrant performances combining vocal harmonies, percussion, and deep emotion, embracing a living, free, and boldly feminine music.
