Oki Dub Ainu Band
Dub / World Music · Japan
Saturday · 9:00PM · Vince Corner

From the island of Hokkaido, Northern Japan, land of snow and floe, homeland of the Ainu people, Oki Kano’s music is a bridge between tradition and innovation. With the help of his “tonkori”, a traditional and endangered string instrument, reminiscent of the zither, this sexagenarian revisits Ainu music with heavy dub, reggae or African arrangements. With many best album nominations in Japan and a solid live career all over the world (Womad, Transmusicales, Fujirock) the Oki Dub Ainu Band are leading artists in the contemporary Japanese music scene. A first appearance in the Indian Ocean and a must see !
