MAFAT808 is an artistic project led by Aleksand SAYA, exploring Indian-Oceanic music through electronic machines.
Here, the energy of ancestral rhythms flows through the electronic circuits of synthesizers, drum machines, and samplers. The vibrations are at times as vivid as the crash of waves against tetrapods, and at others, as slow as the magmatic movement of the Piton de la Fournaise.
The call of electronic percussion invites us to gather and create an electric, almost mystical connection. These hypnotic rhythms speak to the depths of the soul, reminding us that music is, above all, a ritual. Like the light of stars traveling across light-years to reach the future, these pulsations carry an ancient message, transmitted through machines.
