Témé Tan was raised in Kinshasa to the sound of rumba music played by his uncles and the zouk that his cousins listened to. After moving to Brussels he was inspired by the minimalist songs of Mathieu Boogaerts and completely blown away by French rap. Témé Tan crafts songs that are unique in their genre; Améthys for example, is laid back nursery rhyme pop composed with Noza (Grems’ long-time producer). The titles of his first tracks reveal a type of nonchalance along with an amazing groove. Soul, funk, electro, hip hop, no style can escape his enthusiasm, and if his French texts throw you at first, they soon bring a certain charm to the whole. Only live on stage can you truly feel Tanguy Haesevoet’s natural charisma and captivating cool.
